Finance and Fees

In order to help meet the rising costs of running the club it has been necessary to increase member’s fees. Costs have risen across the board including labour, chemicals, fertiliser and fuel which have affected the grounds keeping costs. Water rates, council rates and Tennis SA fees and insurance have also increased, adding to the club’s running costs. The committee attempts to keep fee increases to a minimum and we thank members for their ongoing support of the various social and fundraising events throughout the season which help to provide additional income to defray these costs. Our fees this year are shown below:

Testimonials

"My introduction to the MLTC was at the invitation of the then President of the Club after we coincidentally moved in across the street from their house.  We were invited to a match of social tennis, something I had not played in a long time.  We started a game of mixed doubles, with me partnered with the President's wife.  Despite my third service attempt cannoning into my partner's head, we were still welcomed into the Club and felt instantly at home.  My fondness for the Club and its membership has only grown over time and I very much miss the off season, getting progressively itchier feet as opening day rolls around.  A club is made by its members and I have never felt more at home in any club environment than the way I and my family do at Millswood.  In fact, the Club really is part of our family."

"We joined the Milswood Tennis Club last year as social members. We have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such a  welcoming, friendly group of people. The club has a unique community atmosphere  which we liken to our small country clubs where people if all ages are valued. The courts are excellent and we love the social atmosphere and of course the tennis!"

"A great club. I joined when I was a new resident in Adelaide 6 years ago.  It provides wonderful social contact as well as great tennis.  I play both social midweek and Saturday, and competition Thursday.  The people in the club are welcoming and supportive.  All standards of tennis fit in somewhere and it is nice to mix with a range of ages and such pleasant, welcoming people.  When I first joined someone commented to me to join us because we are really lovely people.  It is true."

"For many years I was a member of a large tennis club and enjoyed playing competition tennis with the Saturday Morning Men's Lawn Tennis Association. However when I retired from competition I felt that my club was not particularly well organized for social tennis. My next door neighbor was a member of The Millswood Lawn Tennis Club and he suggested I give them a try. I joined Millswood and consider it one of the best things I ever did. They are very well organized for social tennis, having a well run board system which takes all the stress out of organizing suitable fours. Being smaller it is also a very friendly and caring club. My wife and I have made many friends there and we enjoy other social outings with them."

"I have been at Millswood Tennis Club since I was 6 weeks old. I love the club and its friendly atmosphere. There is something here for all ages, whether you are 8 or 88."
